We would like to inform you about the renewal of the server certificate used by Things Cloud. We are planning to renew the server certificate used by Things Cloud on one of the days during the week of October 19, 2026. With this renewal, the root certificate of the certificate authority (GMO GlobalSign) that issues the server certificate will change from "GlobalSign Root CA - R3" to "GlobalSign Root R46". *Updated: The date and time have been confirmed. Since the new root certificate is already included in most browsers, this change will not cause communication errors in normal web access. However, if you use Things Cloud with root certificates embedded in your equipment, please be sure to install the new root certificate by the renewal date. For details, please refer to GMO GlobalSign's announcement and the Release Note (both in Japanese). GMO GlobalSign's announcement: https://info-globalsign.com/news/20260414 Release Note: https://developer.ntt.com/iot/docs/change-logs-2026/#tc-2026-0-globalsign-root-certificate-update -Maintenance Time Start date : October 22, 2026 19:00 (JST) (*Updated: The date and time have been confirmed.) (Examples) - Environments where root certificates are embedded in the firmware or settings of devices, gateways or embedded equipment - Environments where applications or similar software manage their own root certificates - Any other environment without automatic root certificate updates *There will be no interruption of the Things Cloud service. *No action is required if you use Things Cloud from common operating systems or browsers that update root certificates automatically. Please add the new root certificate without removing the current one (GlobalSign Root CA - R3). Adding it in advance will not affect your current use. - New Root Certificate The new root certificate is available on the GMO GlobalSign website. You can install it in advance, before the renewal date. https://jp.globalsign.com/support/rootcertificates/ssl.html#dv03 *The key length of the new root certificate's public key will change from RSA 2048 bit (current) to RSA 4096 bit.
